First time we taste bubur ikan in Ta wan restaurant, we suddenly fall in love with it. They have different textures from any others bubur ikan we ever eat. Google google google find its original name is congee, but wow you need 4 freaking hours just to cook it 😱. Google it again and find this shortest recipes by Thewokoflife.com , she said only needs 20 minutes to cook it from scratch. We can do 20 minutes 🤠.
The original recipes is here
We modified the recipes a little bit and here we go
1. Start with freeze rice and cook the porridge just like the instructions on the web.
2. Substitute pork with shrimp.
3. And at the very end, splash the cooked congee with sesame oil (it is not on the recipes)
Voila our first homemade shrimp congee, sorry ta wan I think we not gonna order bubur ikan again, we can cook it at home 😁
